About the series

 

Elinor and Marianne Take Barton is a web adaptation of Jane Austen’s classic novel Sense and Sensibility created by Olivia Cole and Emily Rose, both recent BA Film and Literature graduates from the University of Warwick. They created the entire series whilst completing their second and final years of University, balancing the project with their full-time studies and numerous other extra-curricular commitments.

 

Updating the action to a modern-day university, Elinor and Marianne Take Barton explores the highs and lows of being young, (relatively) independent and dealing with friends, family and relationships. As well as the video diary of Marianne Dashwood, the series follows the other characters through social media and Tumblr blogs.  

 

With a cast and crew entirely made from under twenty-five year olds, this web series is about young people and made by young people. This web series would not have been possible without the generous support of the Lord Rootes Memorial Fund.
